THE VETERANS BRIDGE GROUP

Raising funds to support programs for veterans in Nevada

The Veterans Bridge Group aims to raise $15M to $30M annually for Fixx Development’s Patriot Housing NLV project to help provide essential services and special programs for the veterans who live there.

Purpose

The Veterans Bridge Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of veterans within Nevada communities by offering transitional and affordable housing coupled with essential, cost-free services.

Our mission is to empower veterans and their families to achieve economic independence and elevate their quality of life.

Nevada currently ranks 10th in the nation for homelessness.

According to the US Department of Veterans Affairs (2024), there are approximately 218,000 veterans in Nevada, with 14,000 individuals experiencing some level of homelessness in Southern Nevada alone—a 7% increase over 2022 and 2023.

Specialized Services and Education

Our focus is on building resilience and stability for veterans through comprehensive support services and the provision of affordable housing solutions.

Veterans benefit from these specialized services tailored to address military service trauma and aid in their transition to civilian life. These include financial literacy, life skills development, peer-to-peer support, family counseling, psychological health programs, vocational training, job placement assistance, and career counseling customized to each veteran's skills and aspirations.

The community-building model we employ ensures that services are delivered in a structured manner to maximize developmental impact. We foster partnerships with service providers who are adept at supporting low-income, veteran families, thereby enhancing our holistic approach.

Housing Initiatives

Our housing initiatives incorporate sustainable and green building practices, with modifications designed to accommodate both visible and invisible wounds of war.

These accommodations include but are not limited to soundproofing and lighting options tailored to veteran needs. Each housing development features communal gardens, open spaces, and other venues that are proven to help foster community bonds among residents.

Financial Sustainability

To ensure affordability, our housing programs adhere to income-based guidelines for rent, insurance, taxes, dues, and mortgages where applicable.

Budget and Goals

The Veterans Bridge Group will finance its operations through a strategic combination of funding sources, including individual major donors, federal and state grants, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, special events, and targeted marketing such as direct mail and social media campaigns.

As we expand, funding will support additional staff roles such as grant writers, caseworkers, social service specialists, and others who will enhance our ability to meet growing community needs.
